Location and Fees for Trauma Therapy in CT & VA

I see clients via telehealth (virtually) through a secure online video platform only. You will need a private space for us to meet. I do not hold phone or in-person sessions.
Due to licensing regulations, you must be physically located in Connecticut or Virginia in order for us to meet.

My rate is $200 for a 50-55 minute therapy session and is due at the time of your session.

I am considered an “out-of-network provider.” This means that I do not directly accept insurance. I can provide you with a monthly receipt (called a Superbill) upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that I cannot offer reimbursement to those on Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Tricare plans.
Reimbursement can be done in one of two ways:
1.) Call the number on the back of your insurance card to inquire about your out-of-network benefits and to learn how to submit an out-of-network reimbursement claim.
Some questions to ask your insurance company before you schedule include:
What is my deductible? (This is the amount that you will be asked to pay before insurance begins covering the cost of sessions)
Once that deductible is met, what percentage or amount will insurance reimburse?
How many visits are allowed per calendar year?
2.) Submit claims through Mentaya. Mentaya is a platform where you can quickly check your out-of-network benefits and then claim them. Mentaya will tell you the deductible amount that you have to meet before each session is reimbursed and will also tell you how much each session will be reimbursed afterwards. You may also directly submit claims through Mentaya, making the process faster and simpler.

When beginning therapy, I recommend that we meet together weekly. This allows us to build a more solid foundation, specifically with safety and trust in our therapeutic relationship, and stronger coping strategies.
For some individuals, weekly sessions continue to work well in addressing core concerns rooted in deep therapeutic work. For others, meeting bi-weekly supports and addresses that need just as well.
Everyone is different and everyone's therapeutic process is unique. We can continue to evaluate what works best for you and adjust your session structure and scheduling in a collaborative way that meets your needs appropriately.

I am licensed in Connecticut and Virginia only. You must be physically located in either of those states in order for us to meet for therapy and to work together.

Beginning in January, 2022 and under the No Surprises Act, if you do not have insurance coverage or do not plan to use your out-of-network insurance coverage, I am required to provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” for psychotherapy services. Prior to beginning therapy, you can expect the following from me:
A description of psychotherapy services being provided
An itemized list of psychotherapy services that are reasonably expected within the course of psychotherapy
My name, National Provider Identifier (NPI), Tax Identification Number, and location where services will be provided
The frequency, length, and cost of services may be subject to change as our work together progresses and as we determine what best suits your needs.
For more information about the Good Faith Estimate, please visit: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Symbols have always been an important part of how I understand the world (especially when it comes to the unspeakable in healing from trauma). To me, the willow tree represents a safe, containing space for you to slow down and process your needs, honoring your journey every step of the way. Lean more about my approach here.
